The Signature LRF 2000 is built for hunters, long-range shooters, and anyone who needs precise distance information in the field. HD glass and 7× magnification make it easy to locate and identify targets, while an eye-safe Class 1 laser delivers fast, repeatable ranges.
Three ranging modes (Auto, Sport, Hunt) and multiple display options (line-of-sight distance, horizontal distance, and angle) allow you to tailor the rangefinder to different environments—open country, wooded hillsides, or brushy fields. A nitrogen-filled, rubber-armored housing protects the optic from rain, fog, and hard use.

1. Safety & Laser Precautions
- The Signature LRF 2000 uses an eye-safe FDA Class 1 laser (IEC Class 3R outside the U.S.).
- Never press the Power/Range button while aiming at a human eye or looking into the optics from the objective side.
- Keep the rangefinder out of the reach of small children.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the unit or connect it to any external power source.
2. Installing the Battery
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit below the eyepiece.
- Open the compartment and insert one CR2 lithium battery with the “+” (positive) end facing out.
- Close the battery compartment securely to maintain waterproof integrity.
3. Eyepiece / Diopter Adjustment
- Look through the rangefinder at a bright, featureless background (such as the sky or a blank wall).
- Rotate the eyepiece until the internal display and targeting reticle appear crisp and sharp.
- Once set, the diopter usually does not need frequent adjustment unless a different user takes over.
4. Powering On & Basic Ranging
- Press the Power/Range button once to activate the unit. The internal ranging reticle will appear.
- Place the small circle of the reticle on the target.
- Press the Power/Range button again to take a single range measurement. Distance will display in yards or meters, depending on your settings.
5. Continuous Measurement (Scan Mode)
- Press and hold the Power/Range button to enter continuous ranging.
- Keep the button held while sweeping the reticle across multiple objects or tracking a moving target.
- The display will automatically power off after about 10 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.
Accessing the Settings Menu
- Power on the rangefinder by pressing the Power/Range button.
- Press and hold the Mode button for about 2 seconds to open the settings menu.
- Use the Power/Range button to cycle through options within a menu.
- Press the Mode button to confirm a selection and move to the next menu item.
- Hold the Mode button again for 2 seconds or wait for the auto-timeout to return to normal operation.
Ranging Modes
- Auto Mode – Displays the range of the target with the strongest signal. This is the general-purpose default mode.
- Sport Mode – Prioritizes the closest target in a group. Useful for ranging small or foreground targets in front of clutter.
- Hunt Mode – Prioritizes the farthest target in a group. Ideal for ranging through branches, grass, or other light obstructions.
Unit Selection (Yards / Meters)
- Within the settings menu, choose between Yards and Meters.
- Press Power/Range to toggle, then Mode to confirm your selection.
Display Options (LOS, HOR, ANG)
The Signature LRF 2000 can display distance and angle information in several formats to help you manage uphill and downhill shots:
- LOS – Line-of-sight distance only.
- HOR – Horizontal distance only.
- LOS + HOR – Shows both line-of-sight and horizontal distance.
- LOS + ANG – Shows line-of-sight distance and shot angle (positive = above horizontal, negative = below).
- HOR + ANG – Shows horizontal distance and shot angle.
Internal Display Brightness
- Brightness can be set from levels 1–5.
- Use the Power/Range button to scroll through brightness levels and Mode to confirm.
- Choose a lower level for low-light conditions and a higher level for bright daylight.

Care & Cleaning
- Use a soft brush or air blower to remove dust and grit from the lenses before wiping.
- Clean lenses with a quality lens cloth or tissue and appropriate optical-grade lens cleaner.
- Do not use household glass cleaners or abrasive materials on the optics.
- Store the rangefinder in its case when not in use to protect it from impact and dust.
Problems & Solutions (Quick Checks)
- Unit will not power on: verify battery orientation, replace the CR2 battery if needed, and ensure the compartment is fully closed.
- No range reading: ensure the target is within the 5–2400 yd range, check for heavy rain/fog or glass that can block the laser, and try ranging a larger nearby object.
- Display too dim or too bright: adjust the internal display brightness in the settings menu.
Warranty
The Signature LRF 2000 is covered by the Burris Signature Warranty. Burris will repair or replace the optic if it is damaged or defective—no receipt, no registration, and the warranty is transferable to future owners.
