Burris MTAC™ — Riflescopes

Status — Discontinued: All Burris MTAC models (including 1–4×24, 1.5–6×42, 3.5–10×, 4.5–14×, 6.5–20×) are discontinued. This article is retained for support and service reference.

Tech Note — Click Units: MTAC uses two systems by model: 1–4×24 & 1.5–6×42 have 0.5 MOA clicks; higher-power models (3.5–10×, 4.5–14×, 6.5–20×) use 0.1 mrad (1 click = 0.1 mrad, 5 mils per revolution).

1) Itemized Components (Product Map)

2) Using the Scope (Focus, Parallax)

Eyepiece focus: Point at the sky/plain wall and take quick glances while rotating the eyepiece until the reticle appears crisp and black. Don’t stare while turning (prevents your eye from “auto-focusing”).
Parallax/focus (models with AO): Rotate the ring on the objective bell until the image is sharp and the reticle no longer appears to move against the target when you shift your eye position.

3) Turrets — Click Values & Reset-to-Zero

Resetting to “0” is optional but helpful for quick confirmation of zero.

4) Illumination (All Illuminated Models)

Control: Rotary dial on the left side of the turret housing with 10 brightness levels and OFF detents between levels.
Battery: CR2032, install flat side “+” up in the illumination knob. Remove the battery for long-term storage.

5) Reticles — Overview

Ballistic Milling Reticle	Select high-power models	0.5- and 1-mil hashes; lower vertical tree to ~700 yd (optimized around 500 yd for flat-shooting varmint loads).

6) Care & Maintenance

Fully waterproof and fogproof. For heavy dirt (e.g., dried mud), rinse with clean water or lens fluid first, then use a soft brush or Lens Pen to finish.
All moving assemblies are factory-lubed; do not disassemble. Contact Burris support if service is needed.
