Tech Note — “Clicking” sound: At times you may hear a faint click from the thermal. This is the internal shutter performing a refresh (NUC) to maintain image quality. This is normal operation and has been field-tested while hunting — animals do not hear it.

4) Power & Charging
- Charge fully before first use (5 V/2 A). Avoid charging above 104 °F / 40 °C.
- Working Indicator (power-button LED) doubles as Charging Indicator; both can be disabled/brightness-adjusted in General Settings.
- Auto Stand-by and Auto Power-Off timers available in Power Settings.
- Built-in 16 GB storage for photos/video; transfer via app or USB; “Reformat Storage” clears memory.
5) Operation
- Stand-by: Hold Power and release before the shutdown bar completes (stays connected via Wi-Fi).
- Focus: Adjust eyepiece diopter until menu text is crisp; then use objective focusing ring for distance (min focus: 3 ft on BTH35 v3; 18 in on BTH19 v3).
- Zoom: Up/Down for 1×/2×/4× steps; hold Up/Down for Smooth Zoom.
- Shortcuts: Left = cycle palettes; Right = cycle scene modes; M opens menu.

9) Care
- Protect the Germanium objective with the lens cover when not in use; clean only when needed with blower/brush/lens tools.
- Do not point at high-intensity sources (sun/lasers) to avoid sensor damage.
- Store in a dry, ventilated space; if storing long-term, top-up charge for 4 hours every two months to prolong battery life.
