Overview
A quality rifle scope is a precision instrument designed to provide the clearest, brightest image possible. Proper mounting is critical to maintaining accuracy and ensuring your point of aim matches your point of impact. Burris Signature Rings provide an advanced solution to common alignment challenges, delivering superior performance, improved scope protection, and easy installation.
Why Proper Scope Mounting Matters
- Precision optics rely on light passing directly through the center of the lenses.
- Misalignment between your rifle barrel and scope causes point of impact deviation.
- Common causes include receiver alignment variance, mounting hole tolerances, and ring/base inconsistencies.
- Over-adjusting internal turrets reduces performance—causing light loss, glare, parallax issues, and reduced adjustment range.
The Burris Signature Rings Solution
The ideal solution is to align the entire scope with the barrel—not just compensate internally. Burris Signature Rings feature patented Posi-Align Offset Inserts, allowing you to physically reposition the scope for precise alignment.
Key Features
- Offset inserts provide precise correction by shifting the scope position.
- Includes zero (“0”) inserts for standard mounting.
- Optional Offset Insert Kit (Item 626019) includes:
- ±5 (≈ 5" at 100 yards)
- ±10 (≈ 10" at 100 yards)
- ±20 (≈ 20" at 100 yards)
- Combined inserts allow adjustment up to approximately 30 inches at 100 yards.

Values represent approximate point-of-impact shift in inches at 100 yards based on ring spacing (center-to-center).
Burris Signature Rings allow multiple ways to achieve the same amount of correction by combining offset inserts across the front and rear rings. For example, a 0.010" (10) correction can be created using a single set of ±10 inserts, or by distributing adjustment between two sets of ±5 inserts. A 0.020" (20) correction can be achieved with a single set of ±20 inserts, by combining two ±10 sets (one in each ring), or by pairing ±20 inserts in one ring with 0 inserts in the other. This flexibility allows you to spread correction across both rings, reducing stress on the scope tube while fine-tuning alignment. Additional combinations of ±5, ±10, and ±20 inserts can be used to achieve intermediate values such as 0.015", 0.025", 0.030", and up to 0.040" total correction.

How to Use Signature Rings
Review the illustration (right) to understand how Burris Signature Rings with Posi-Align inserts allow precise scope alignment. This system corrects point of impact without over-adjusting your scope internally.
Step 1: Initial Setup
- Install the “0” inserts and fire a group.
- Measure the distance from point of aim to point of impact.
Step 2: Select Insert Combination
- Determine the amount of correction needed and select the appropriate insert pair.
- Both front and rear rings can be used to achieve the desired adjustment.
- Combining inserts allows for large corrections—even several feet at distance.
- Always use one “+” and one “−” insert of the same value.
- Never use two “+” or two “−” inserts in the same ring.
- Inserts can be rotated 360° to fine-tune correction in any direction.
Step 3: Adjust the Front Ring
- Identify the direction of your group relative to center.
- Rotate the inserts approximately 45° toward that direction.
- Place the − insert toward the point of impact.
- Place the + insert opposite the point of impact.
- This moves the front of the scope toward proper alignment.
Step 4: Adjust the Rear Ring
- The rear ring moves the scope in the opposite direction of the front ring.
- Install the + insert toward the desired correction.
- Install the − insert away from the correction.
- This provides fine control over vertical and horizontal alignment.
Step 5: Confirm & Fine Tune
- Shoot another group to confirm your correction.
- If within ~3 inches, use your scope turrets for final zero.

Benefits Beyond Alignment
- Protects your scope: Synthetic inserts prevent scratches and damage.
- Improved grip: Eliminates need for lapping.
- Reduced stress: Self-centering inserts prevent mechanical stress.
- Wide compatibility: Works with most mounting systems.
Installation
Installation is similar to standard scope rings. Select the correct inserts based on your setup and desired correction, then mount per standard procedures.
Summary
Burris Signature Rings provide a precise, adjustable, and stress-free mounting solution. They improve accuracy, preserve scope integrity, and deliver optimal performance without compromise.
